In those days, “the awareness in terms of availability and accessibility of high-end designer apparel was limited only to a select few,” she explains. It was then that she began her foray into design with her own bridal wardrobe; from then on, there was no looking back. What was initiated as a solution strategy gained momentum and soon grew into a full-time career choice; widespread appreciation and numerous design orders followed. “There was a huge market waiting to be tapped into,” she explains. That is how the eponymous design house of Shehla Chatoor came into being.
